UMR Choir to perform in concert April 28

The University of Missouri-Rolla Choir will perform in concert at 7 p.m. Friday, April 28, in Leach Theatre of Castleman Hall, 10th and Main streets in Rolla. The performance is free and open to the public.

Pieces to be performed include “Missa Festiva” by John Leavitt, featuring UMR student soloists Kim Bieser, Emily Els and Steven Dubelman; “If Music be the Food of Love” by David Dickau; “Remember” by Stephen Chatman; and “Praise His Holy Name” by Keith Hampton, which will feature UMR student soloists Joe Theirman and Wendy King. UMR student Scott Brendler serves as the choir’s accompanist.

The choir is led by Lorie Francis, a lecturer in the arts, languages and philosophy department at UMR. University Choir is open to UMR students, faculty and staff, as well as community singers. No audition is required. The choir presents two concerts each semester.
