Students to be knighted during UMR’s St. Pat’s Celebration

Student Knights of St. Patrick have been selected to represent University of Missouri-Rolla student organizations during coronation ceremonies at 9 p.m. Friday, March 17, in Leach Theatre of Castleman Hall on the UMR campus. The practice of knighting students every spring can be traced back to the beginning of the 20th century, when UMR engineering students declared St. Patrick the patron saint of engineers. 

This is the 98th Annual St. Pat’s Celebration at UMR. The 2006 Knights of St. Patrick are: 

MISSOURI 

Affton – William Viegas, a senior in mechanical engineering, representing Kappa Alpha Order.

Arnold – Becky Pohlman, a senior in mathematics and economics, representing Panhellenic Council.

Ballwin – Paul Leonard, a senior in mechanical engineering, representing Tau Kappa Epsilon.

Camdenton – Ryan Martinson, a sophomore in mechanical engineering, representing Quadrangle Hall Association.

Fenton – Lori Ziegler, a senior in aerospace engineering, representing Omega Sigma.

Jackson – Benjamin Statler, a junior in architectural engineering, representing Tau Kappa Epsilon.

Marceline – Nathan Brownell, a junior in mining engineering, representing Sigma Chi.

O’Fallon – Hugh Benhardt, a senior in mechanical engineering, representing the Newman Center.

Poplar Bluff – Jessica Gray, a senior in nuclear engineering, representing Thomas Jefferson Hall Association.

Rhineland – Jennifer Elsenraat, a senior in engineering management, representing Zeta Tau Alpha.             

St. Charles – Jeremiah King, a senior in civil engineering, representing Sigma Tau Gamma.

St. Louis – Lauren Huchingson, a junior in information science and technology, representing Student Council; Jim Jacobe, a senior in engineering management, representing Alpha Epsilon Pi; Lou Kuelker, a senior in civil engineering; Christopher Moll, a senior in engineering management, representing Blue Key.

St. Peters – Ryan Van Booven, a senior in mechanical engineering, representing Residence Hall Association; Jeremy Schlosser, a sophomore in computer engineering, representing Alpha Phi Omega.

Troy – Jordan Gittemeier, a senior in electrical engineering, representing Phi Kappa Theta.

Union – Alyssia Huntington, a senior in architectural engineering, representing Kappa Delta.

Warrenton – Alicia Canelos, a senior in nuclear engineering, representing Phi Sigma Rho.

Westphalia – Jeremy Bexten, a senior in civil engineering, representing Kappa Sigma.

Mountain Home – Jennifer Allen, a senior in geological engineering, representing Lambda Sigma Pi.
