Thirty faculty members from the School of Engineering at the University of Missouri-Rolla were honored for their teaching in 2004-2005 on Tuesday, Nov. 8.
Dr. Robert Mitchell, dean of the UMR School of Engineering, and Jerry Bayless, associate dean of the School of Engineering, presented the awards.
The School of Engineering Excellence in Teaching Award is given each year to School of Engineering faculty members based on student responses in teacher evaluations. Recipients of the award taught at least one lecture course each semester that was evaluated by 10 or more students.
Excellence in Teaching Awards were presented to:
• Dr. Shoukat Ali, assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering.
• Dr. D.J. Belarbi, Curators’ Teaching Professor of civil, architectural and environmental engineering.
• Dr. Kirk Christensen, adjunct assistant professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering.
• Dr. Duke Dow, lecturer in engineering management and systems engineering.
• Dr. Jim Drallmeier, professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering.
• Dr. Jim Drewniak, professor electrical and computer engineering.
• Dr. David Enke, assistant professor engineering management and systems engineering.
• Dr. Kelvin Erickson, chair and professor of electrical and computer engineering.
• Dr. Ralph Flori, assistant dean for pre-college and undergraduate programs in the School of Engineering.
• Dr. Kelly Homan, assistant professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering.
• Dr. Nancy Hubing, director of freshman engineering.
• Dr. Todd Hubing, professor of electrical and computer engineering.
• Dr. Kurt Kosbar, associate professor of electrical and computer engineering.
• Dr. K. Krishnamurthy, associate dean for research and graduate affairs in the School of Engineering.
• Dr. Roger LaBoube, Curators’ Teaching Professor of civil, architectural and environmental engineering.
• Dr. Robert Landers, assistant professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering.
• Dr. Randy Moss, professor of electrical and computer engineering.
• Dr. Henry Pernicka, associate professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering.
• Dr. Timothy Philpot, associate professor of interdisciplinary engineering.
• Dr. David Richardson, associate professor of civil, architectural and environmental engineering.
• Dr. R. Joe Stanley, associate professor of electrical and computer engineering.
• Kristy Wolfe, lecturer of interdisciplinary engineering.
• Dr. Reza Zoughi, Schlumberger Distinguished Professor of electrical and computer engineering.
The School of Engineering Innovative Teaching Award is given to School of Engineering faculty members who demonstrate innovation in their classroom teaching. The award is presented based on project proposals that are reviewed by a committee of School of Engineering faculty members. This year 11 projects were submitted for review.
Innovative Teaching Awards were presented to:

• Dr. Ronaldo Luna, associate professor of civil, architectural and environmental engineering.

• Dr. Glenn Morrison, assistant professor of civil, architectural and environmental engineering.
• Dr. Eric Showalter, lecturer of civil, architectural and environmental engineering.
• Dr. Rick Stephenson, professor of civil, architectural and environmental engineering.
