The 2005-2006 season of the University of Missouri–Rolla Campus Performing Arts Series continues this month with a performance by the Kavafian Shifrin Shub chamber music trio. The performance will be held at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, in Leach Theatre of Castleman Hall, 10th and Main streets on the UMR campus. Admission is $28 for adults and $18 for students age 18 and younger.

The Kavafian Shifrin Shub Trio is comprised by violinist Ani Kavafian, clarinet soloist David Shifrin, and pianist André-Michel Schub. Kavafian is in great demand as a soloist, chamber musician, and teacher, while Shifrin is in constant demand as an orchestral soloist and recitalist. Schub has been praised by critics and audiences around the world since his career began nearly three decades ago.

The three have performed with virtually all of America’s leading orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Chicago Symphony and the Pittsburgh Symphony.

The next installment in the UMR Campus Performing Arts Series will be a dance performance by the Hubbard Street Dancers, “Hubbard Street 2,” 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12.

Although season tickets are no longer available, if you plan to attend three or more performances this season, the Leach Theatre Box Office is offering a discount on the purchase of tickets to multiple shows in the Campus Performing Arts Series. Patrons who purchase, at the same time, single tickets to three or more different shows receive $4 off the price of each ticket.
