Spaces remain for UMR’s private pilot ground school

Aspiring fliers can still sign up for a semester-long private pilot ground school at the University of Missouri-Rolla, where they will receive a general introduction to aviation to prepare for pilot exams.

The 20-hour course will be held from 7-9:30 p.m. on Monday and Thursday evenings from Monday, Sept. 19, through Thursday, Oct. 13, in the Butler-Carlton Civil Engineering Building on the UMR campus. The course, offered once a year, is sponsored by the mechanical and aerospace engineering department.

The fee for the course is $100 and a textbook will be available for $10. Registration and payment must be made by Friday, Sept. 9.
