Boeing Corp. has donated $250,000 to the University of Missouri-Rolla to support scholarships for women, minorities and financially disadvantaged students. The donation from Boeing, which is the largest employer of UMR graduates, will also help support the UMR Student Design Center, the electrical and computer engineering departments, and minority student associations on campus.

Robert Feldmann, program manager for the EA-18G program and a 1980 UMR computer science graduate, and Bonnie Brandt, manager of community and education relations from Boeing presented the $250,000 check during a luncheon May 27 at UMR.

Boeing Representatives also viewed the UMR solar car and toured facilities on campus, including the Center for Aerospace Manufacturing Technologies, the Electrical and Computer Engineering Wireless Communications Laboratory and the UMR solar house.
