UMR Family Series to feature three fun productions in 2005-2006

The University of Missouri-Rolla will present three professional productions for the 2005-2006 season of the UMR Family Series. All events will be held in Leach Theatre of Castleman Hall on the UMR campus, 10th and Main streets in Rolla. The Family Series is presented by the UMR student life department.

Tickets for individual performances are $10 for adults and $7 for youths age 18 and younger. For more ticket information, call the Leach Theatre Box Office at (573) 341-4219.

The Family Series also offers patrons a punch card to Family Series performances. The Sir Leach Family Series Punch Card is $30 and provides five admissions to any of the Family Series shows, saving audience members up to $12 each. Patrons can use the card to purchase admissions for any of the three performances, says Emily Preston, Leach Theatre house manager. The 2005-2006 Family Series includes:

Snowflake, presented by Gale LaJoye, 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23. LaJoye s Snowflake, hailed by critics and audiences as a must see, has toured throughout Asia, South America, Australia, Mexico, Canada and the United States. In the production, he weaves different schools of theater into funny and poignant stories that help adults and children turn sorrow into joy.

Theatre of Illusion, presented by magicians Kevin and Cindy Spencer, 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, 2006. For more than a decade, the Spencers have entertained audiences throughout the United States and around the world with one of the most successful touring illusion shows in the nation. They have earned a reputation as one of the most highly regarded acts in magical entertainment.

Cinderella, presented by American Theater Arts for Youth, 7 p.m. Saturday, April 29, 2006. Cinderella and her new friend Mortimer Mouse will sing and dance their way from the kitchen of Cinderella s stepmother s house to Prince Charming s brilliant ball.
