The Association of Black Students (ABS) at the University of Missouri-Rolla will hold its annual "Dinner to Jazz" banquet at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, in the Havener Center on the UMR campus. This year, the band Rainhouse will be the featured entertainer.
"Rainhouse is a modern band that does a lot of mixing of old and new and is very upbeat," says Naomi McCall, second-vice president for ABS. "The theme this year is a look at the movies we all love that have jazz themes."
This semi-formal event, held in conjunction with the African American Cultural Recognition Committee, has been a tradition at UMR since 1965. Tickets are $10 for students and $15 for adults and are now on sale in the student diversity programs office in Room 212 Engineering Research Lab.
