For the first time ever, the University of Missouri-Rolla’s engineering management undergraduate program is one of five national programs recognized for excellence by the American Society for Engineering Management (ASEM).

UMR’s engineering management undergraduate degree program, part of the engineering management department, received the honor Oct. 22 during the ASEM’s national conference in Alexandria, Va. UMR was honored alongside Stevens Institute of Technology, Western Michigan University, U.S. Military Academy and University of the Pacific.

"The award is a validation of the quality of our undergraduate program," says Dr. William Daughton, professor and chair of the engineering management program at UMR. "It provides students with an assurance that their education is going to be relevant to them for their professional careers. This award continues the tradition of our program being one of the top ones in the United States."
