Jeremiah King to portray St. Pat at UMR

Jeremiah King of St. Charles, Mo., a junior in civil engineering at the University of Missouri-Rolla, will portray St. Patrick, the patron saint of engineers, during the 2004 UMR St. Pat’s Celebration.

St. Pat and his court will arrive in Rolla at noon Wednesday, March 10, to preside over the 96th annual St. Pat’s Celebration at UMR. The court also will preside over formal coronation ceremonies at 9 p.m. Friday, March 12, at Leach Theatre on UMR’s campus. There, honorary and student knights will be dubbed and the St. Pat Queen of Love and Beauty will be announced. The event is open to the public.

The 2004 celebration culminates on Saturday, March 13, with the annual St. Pat’s Parade through downtown Rolla. It begins at 11 a.m.

The following UMR students are members of the St. Pat’s court this year:

— First Master Guard: Joshua Goosey of Rolla, Mo., a junior in business and management systems.

— Second Master Guard: Jacob Scherer of Merriam, Kansas, a senior in mining engineering.

— First Guard: Martin Hoffman Jr. of Cape Girardeau, Mo., a junior in civil engineering.

— Second Guard: Marshall Littrell of Houston, Texas, a junior in information science and technology.

— Third Guard: Stephen Berkley of St. Louis, a junior in physics.

— Fourth Guard: Nicholas Christian of Manchester, Mo., a junior in nuclear engineering.

— Herald: James Jacobe of St. Louis, a junior in engineering management.

— First Page: Mary Beth Danuser of Montreal, Mo., a junior in information science and technology and management systems.

— Second Page: Matthew Foster of Devils Elbow, Mo., a junior in civil engineering.

— Trumpeter: Jeremy Bryant of Rolla, Mo., a junior in mechanical engineering.
