Adam Stumpf, ME’10, was focused on making bourbon, whiskey and vodka at his craft distillery when the coronavirus began to sweep across the United States. His wife and business partner, Laura, soon noticed that hand sanitizer was gone from store shelves. The Stumpfs had plenty of alcohol available, so why not convert the business from beverages to hand sanitizer? Stumpf says it was a no-brainer.

New glass research center to support statewide medical research

By combining their materials science expertise with large-scale medical research, Missouri S&T researchers hope to meet clinical demands for glass-related solutions through a new Center for Glass Science and Technology (CGST). The new center will build on Missouri S&T’s previous success in glass research, which includes the development of bioactive glasses to treat open wounds and cancers.

UMR Weiner Professor to discuss ethics of health care system April 19

Dr. Wade Robison, an expert on the ethics of the U.S. health care system, will give a lecture titled, Flipping for Health Care at noon Wednesday, April 19, in Room G-5 Humanities-Social Sciences Building on the University of Missouri-Rolla campus. The lecture is free and open to the public.
