Dr. Runar Nygaard, assistant professor of petroleum engineering at Missouri University of Science and Technology, is giving a public lecture on the Deepwater Horizon Incident at 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 4, in Room 204 of McNutt Hall on the Missouri S&T campus.

UMR petroleum expert says gulf pipelines don’t fare well in big hurricanes

Like some of the levees in New Orleans, much of the oil producing infrastructure in the Gulf of Mexico wasn’t built to withstand a hurricane as powerful as Katrina, according to a petroleum engineering expert at the University of Missouri-Rolla.
