Nineteen students in eight categories received recognition and cash awards as winners of the 16th annual Undergraduate Research Conference at Missouri S&T. The conference featured oral and poster exhibitions that represented work from students in nearly every major at Missouri S&T. First-place winners were awarded a cash prize of $500. Second- and third-place finishers received $250 and $100, respectively.

Missouri S&T racecar teams earn high finishes

Missouri University of Science and Technology’s Formula SAE-Electric team earned fifth place at Formula SAE-Lincoln, an international student design competition for Formula One-style racecars sponsored by the SAE International. This was the first time the team competed at an event. Missouri S&T’s Formula SAE team earned 25th in a separate competition for combustion-based cars at the same event.

The competition was held Friday, May 8, through Sunday, May 10, at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida.
