S&T researcher develops technique to detect breast cancer in urine

UMR chemist is one of 15 to receive international Nano 50 award

Dr. Nicholas Leventis, professor of chemistry at the University of Missouri-Rolla, is one of 15 innovators included in the 2007 Nano 50 Awards presented by Nanotech Briefs magazine, the publication announced Thursday, June 14. Leventis is being recognized for his groundbreaking research in the development of polymer cross-linked aerogels.

Switzer wins ACS award

Castleman Distinguished Professor of Chemistry at the University of Missouri-Rolla and a senior investigator in the UMR Materials Research Center, has won the 2006 American Chemical Society Midwest Award. The award will be presented at the ACS 2006 Midwest Regional Meeting in Quincy, Ill., in October.

Drinking water: make mine unleaded, says UMR chemist
