Read More »In response to Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon’s “State of the State” proposal to increase science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education funding, Missouri University of Science and Technology Chancellor Cheryl B. Schrader issued this statement:
“There is no sector of our economy poised for more growth than the STEM fields, and the key to meeting the increased demand for these skilled employees is education. Research from the Missouri Department of Economic Development shows that Missouri’s 2020 projected job growth for STEM occupations is higher than the average expected combined growth for all occupations in the state. With dozens of STEM degree options as well as STEM education options that begin at the elementary level, Missouri S&T is well positioned to meet these educational needs of our state.”
