UMR’s Greg Gelles to serve as dean of college in Oman

Dr. Greg Gelles, chair and professor of economics and finance at the University of Missouri-Rolla, has been named dean of Mazoon College in Muscat, Oman. Gelles will take over for Dr. Juma S. Al Ghailani, the school’s founding dean, for a two-year term.

Flachsbart named chair of UMR information science & technology

Dr. Barry Flachsbart, a former adjunct professor at the University of Missouri-Rolla’s Engineering Education Center (EEC) in St. Louis, has been named professor and chair of the information science and technology department in UMR’s School of Management and Information Systems. The appointment took effect Sept. 1.
