The area community is invited to learn about Middle Eastern culture and customs during Saudi Night 2013 at Missouri University of Science and Technology on Sunday, April 7. The event will be held from 4-8 p.m. in St. Pat’s Ballroom of the Havener Center.

85 students to exhibit research at S&T conference
On Wednesday, April 3, 85 undergraduates from Missouri University of Science and Technology will present their research at the 9th Annual Undergraduate Research Conference. Almost all majors will be represented at the event, with the presentations split between oral and poster exhibitions.

This past weekend a team of students and alumni from Missouri University of Science and Technology competed in seven traditional mining tasks as part of the 35th International Intercollegiate Mining Games and managed to earn a top-three position in several team categories, with the women’s team tying for first place.

Update: 9 a.m. CDT Thursday, March 21, 2013: A memorial service to honor the memory of Kaitlin D. Brown will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, at the Southwestern Bell Cultural Center, 1207 N. Elm St., on the Missouri University of Science and Technology campus in Rolla. A candlelight vigil will follow at the Puck on campus. Missouri S&T students, faculty and staff are welcome to attend both events. The joint investigation by Rolla and Missouri S&T police into the cause of her death is continuing.
