Missouri S&T electrical engineering celebrates its centennial

In 1924, Missouri S&T was called the Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy, its student newspaper had advertisements for 35-cent haircuts, there were 353 students enrolled in fall classes, with 111 of them being freshmen — and the electrical engineering department was officially created.

Dan Bailey begins term as Miner Alumni Association president

Dan Bailey of Fairway, Kansas, who earned a bachelor’s degree in geological engineering in 2003 and a master’s degree in engineering management in 2005, became president of the Miner Alumni Association Oct. 26, during Missouri S&T’s Homecoming festivities on the Rolla campus. Bailey replaces Dr. Chris Ramsay, who served as president for the past two years.

Missouri S&T wind symphony to perform Nov. 3
