Dr. Frances Haemmerlie Montgomery, Curators’ Teaching Professor of psychology and associate dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Missouri-Rolla, was named the 2005 Woman of the Year at UMR Tuesday, April 19, during the campus’ annual Woman of the Year luncheon.

Twenty-one faculty members in The University of Missouri-Rolla School of Materials, Energy and Earth Resources (SoMEER) received teaching awards during a ceremony on campus April 14.

For the second year in a row, men’s and women’s mucking teams at the University of Missouri-Rolla have won championships in the Intercollegiate Mining Competition. The UMR mucking teams, competing against teams from around the world, took first place April 2 in Reno, Nev.
