Rolla’s cultural celebration to include Chinese dancers, African rhythms
Downtown Rolla will come alive this autumn with colorful Chinese dragons, African music, international treats and much more at the first Celebration of Nations event on Saturday, Oct. 9. The event was created to showcase how cultural diversity enriches Rolla, Missouri University of Science and Technology, and the world.

The Central Ozarks Section of the Miner Alumni Association at Missouri University of Science and Technology and the Rolla Chapter of the Missouri Society of Professional Engineers (MSPE) will hold their annual shrimp feed on Saturday, Aug. 28, at pavilion 5 of Lions Club Park on U.S. Highway 63 in Rolla. Pavilion 5 is located at the front of the park. The event begins with a social hour at 5 p.m., followed by dinner at 6 p.m.

Area theater-goers will be treated to “An Evening with Jeff Daniels” in December, one of three Leach Special Events scheduled for the upcoming season at Missouri University of Science and Technology. All performances will be held in Leach Theatre of Castleman Hall on the Missouri S&T campus, 10th and Main streets in Rolla.
Band concert to be held downtown on Thursday
Join the Rolla Town Band at the downtown band shell for a concert at 7:30 p.m. this Thursday, July 8. The band shell is located on 9th Street. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.

The performer will teach “Broadway and Beyond: Master Classes in Dance and Musical Theatre” at Missouri University of Science and Technology on Thursday, June 24. Dancers at all skill levels are welcome.
