Actor, musician, singer Daniels one of many performers at S&T this season

Area theater-goers will be treated to “An Evening with Jeff Daniels” in December, one of three Leach Special Events scheduled for the upcoming season at Missouri University of Science and Technology. All performances will be held in Leach Theatre of Castleman Hall on the Missouri S&T campus, 10th and Main streets in Rolla.


Tickets will go on sale Friday, Aug. 20. Patrons can purchase tickets online, by phone at 573-341-4219, or from the Leach Theatre Box Office. Box office hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Silent surrealist films will be accompanied by live gypsy jazz when “The Hot Club of San Francisco” is presented at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 28. Tickets are $15. This ensemble of accomplished and versatile musicians celebrates the music of Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli’s pioneering Hot Club de France.

Jeff Daniels, accomplished stage and screen actor, and talented singer and songwriter, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4. Tickets are $35 for adults, $25 for students and youth, and $10 for Missouri S&T students. Although best known for his performances in movies like Purple Rose of Cairo, Arachnophobia and Dumb and Dumber, Daniels has been playing guitar and writing songs for more than 30 years.

A note-perfect and visually spot-on tribute to Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, “Bruce in the U.S.A.” is as close as you can get to the real thing. The concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 28, 2011. Tickets for this high-energy musical experience are $30 for adults, $20 for students and youth, and $10 for S&T students.
