Missouri University of Science and Technology’s Board of Trustees welcomed six new members during its spring meeting, held last week on campus in conjunction with the Bioplex groundbreaking ceremony and the quarterly meeting of the Kummer Missouri S&T Foundation Board of Directors.
The board comprises Missouri S&T alumni and friends whose accomplishments, experience and interests help guide the future of the university. The board’s three-part mission entails counseling and advising the chancellor on enhancing the university’s stature, interpreting the university’s goals and programs to its various constituents, and identifying and securing financial support.
“Each of our new members brings to the board an unwavering dedication to elevating Missouri S&T,” says board president Steve Wunning, a retired Caterpillar executive who earned a bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering from Missouri S&T in 1973 and was honored with a Professional Degree in metallurgical engineering in 2004. “The expertise and insight that each new member brings are incredibly valuable assets to our work of making sure S&T is having as much impact as possible on our communities and on our world, both today and in the future.”
