Missouri University of Science and Technology’s arts, languages and philosophy department will present an orchestra concert this November.
The performance will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10, in Leach Theatre of Castleman Hall, located at the corner of 10th and Main streets on the Missouri S&T campus. The orchestra is directed by Foster Beyers, lecturer of music at Missouri S&T.
“For this concert, the S&T University Orchestra will present two of the most iconic and recognizable works in the orchestral repertoire,” says Beyers. “The Schubert ‘Unfinished Symphony’ contains the whole universe of emotions from joy to tragedy in only about 25 minutes of music. Tchaikovsky’s suite from the ballet ‘Swan Lake’ shows off the amazing colors of the full orchestra in several international dances, ending with a grand waltz. Take an hour from your Sunday to hear these amazingly talented and dedicated students.”
Tickets are $5 for the public and free for youth ages 18 and under and Missouri S&T students with a valid ID. Tickets can be purchased online at leachtheatre.mst.edu or by calling 573-341-4219. Service fees may apply to tickets purchased online. Tickets can also be purchased at the Leach Theatre box office starting one hour before the performance.
