The Missouri University of Science and Technology Wind Symphony will perform their second fall concert at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3 in Leach Theatre. Tickets are $5 for the public and free to youth ages 18 and under, and Missouri S&T students with a valid ID.
The Wind Symphony will perform “American Riversongs,” by Pierre La Plante; “Forgotten Dreams,” by Leroy Anderson; “Pageant,” by Vincent Persichetti and “Second Suite in F for Military Band,” by Gustav Holst. The Wind Symphony is directed by Dr. David Samson, assistant professor of music at Missouri S&T.
The concert will also feature performances by several student music ensembles.
“We’re thrilled to feature three student-led ensembles at our next Wind Symphony concert: the Movie Music Ensemble, the Video Game Music Ensemble, and the Saxophone Choir,” says Samson. “All of our students work extremely hard to bring their talents to the stage, but to have students go the extra mile to organize their own groups shows a great commitment to the arts at S&T.”
Tickets can be purchased online at leachtheatre.mst.edu or by calling 573-341-4219. Service fees may apply to tickets purchased online or by phone. Tickets can also be purchased at the Leach Theatre Box Office starting one hour before the performance.
