Missouri S&T’s MAE department welcomes new faculty members

At the start of the fall 2023 semester, Missouri S&T welcomed two new mechanical and aerospace engineering faculty members.

Dr. Donna Jennings.

Dr. Donna Jennings joined S&T as an assistant teaching professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering. Jennings earned a Ph.D. and bachelor’s degree, both in aerospace engineering, from Missouri S&T. She has taught courses at the university since 2021. Her primary teaching areas of interest include astrodynamics, orbital mechanics, spacecraft mission design, spacecraft design and dynamics.

Dr. Smriti Nandan Paul.

Dr. Smriti Nandan Paul joined S&T as an assistant professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering. He holds a Ph.D. in aerospace engineering from Purdue University. Paul comes to S&T from West Virginia University, where he served as a postdoctoral research fellow and conducted research for NASA’s NAIRAS project and the International Space Weather Action Teams project. Some of his research areas include astrodynamics, space domain awareness, space situational awareness, space traffic management and space weather.
