Applications are open for Missouri S&T’s fall TEDx event, with the theme “Solve for X.”
Missouri S&T will host TEDxMissouriS&T on Thursday, Oct. 26, in Leach Theatre. Anyone with a topic relating to the theme can apply to speak at the event. The application deadline is Sunday, April 30.
The theme “Solve for X” could apply across topics such as the modern workforce, research, development and beyond. Speakers are encouraged to think about ideas to address present or future issues in their community, and in society in general.
Applications can be submitted online at tedxmst.com/speakers. Applicants must summarize their proposed topic and explain why it is worth sharing, how it connects to the overall theme of the event and why they want to be a TEDx speaker.
TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to “Ideas Worth Spreading” that shares media and supports educational initiatives. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark discussion and connection. All presentations are recorded and shared through TEDx media.
