The Neil Simon Festival Production Co. will present an off-Broadway performance of Alfred Uhry’s “Driving Miss Daisy” at Missouri S&T this February. Television veterans Clarence Gilyard, of “Matlock” and “Walker, Texas Ranger,” and Sheree J. Wilson, of “Dallas” and “Walker, Texas Ranger,” will star in the theater production.

The performance will start at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at Leach Theatre in Castleman Hall, located on the Missouri S&T campus in Rolla at the corner of 10th and Main streets.

“Driving Miss Daisy” tells the story of a widow who becomes too old to drive, so her son hires Hoke Colburn, an African American man, to be her chauffeur. This 1988 Pulitzer Prize-winning play illustrates the friendship that develops between the two. “Driving Miss Daisy” also won the Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Off-Broadway Play.

Tickets are $38 for adults and $33 for students and youths. Tickets can be purchased at the Leach Theatre Box Office, located inside the main entrance of Castleman Hall, facing 10th Street.
