The African Student Association at Missouri S&T invites campus and community members to attend the 2019 African Gala Night on April 28.
Titled “The Motherland,” the event will begin at 5 p.m. Sunday, April 28, in St. Pat’s Ballroom of the Havener Center, located on the Missouri S&T campus. The event will include a student cultural show that will feature African dance, art, food, fashion, music and traditions, with a break at 6 p.m. for dinner.
Keynote speaker Georgette Barnes Sakyi-Addo, CEO of Georgette Barnes Ltd., will take the stage at 5:10 p.m. The event will conclude with a concert featuring musical artist Jaybleeng, an Afrobeat singer from St. Louis.
Tickets are $7 for adults and S&T students. Children under 5 may attend for free. Tickets are available for purchase in the Havener Center on the Missouri S&T campus from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on weekdays through April 26. Tickets will also be available at the door. There is no additional charge for the concert.
