The Missouri S&T Orchestra will present its spring concert April 27 along with the Missouri S&T Choir.

The concert will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, April 27, in Leach Theatre of Castleman Hall, located at 10th and Main streets in Rolla. The concert will feature performances by the Missouri S&T Orchestra and the Missouri S&T Choir with guest composer Luke Benton. The orchestra is directed by Dr. Kyle Wernke, a lecturer in music at S&T.

Tickets are $5 for general admission and free for S&T students and children under age 18. Tickets can be purchased at the Leach Theatre Box Office, inside the 10th Street entrance. The box office is open 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday and one hour before any ticketed performance.

The concert will feature a performance of composer Robert Schumann’s “Requiem, Opus 148.” Composed after Schumann moved to Dusseldorf near the end of his life, the “Requiem” was not performed until eight years after his death and is today regarded as one of Schumann’s more neglected works.
