Enrollment for the first day of classes at Missouri University of Science and Technology was 7,888. This is a .6 percent increase compared to the previous spring enrollment, says Deanne Jackson, Missouri S&T registrar.

The spring semester at Missouri S&T began on Tuesday, Jan. 16, however the campus was closed due to extreme wind chill conditions. Classes resumed Wednesday, Jan. 17. Last spring, 7,834 students were enrolled on the first day of the spring semester.

“Overall enrollment continues to be very consistent,” says Tim Albers, vice provost and dean for enrollment management at Missouri S&T. “Enrollment in the College of Arts, Sciences, and Business continues to grow, which highlights the value of a Missouri S&T degree.”

This spring’s enrollment represents continued growth at S&T since spring 2014, when 7,269 students were enrolled at the start of the semester.

The university will continue to enroll students through the first weeks of the spring semester. The official enrollment figures for the semester will be released after the fourth week of classes.
