Leach Theatre will host a performance of the Broadway musical “Million Dollar Quartet” as a part of the 2017-18 Campus Performing Arts Series at Missouri S&T this month. The musical chronicles a 1956 “jam session” that is now considered to be a seminal moment in rock and roll history.

The performance will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 4, at Leach Theatre in Castleman Hall.

“Million Dollar Quartet” is inspired by the true story of a Dec. 4, 1956, jam session that brought together legendary performers Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins for a single event. This musical brings you inside the Sun Record Studios in Memphis with the four talents who came together as a rock and roll band for one night only.

The musical includes hit songs like “Blue Suede Shoes,” “Fever,” “That’s All Right,” “Sixteen Tons,” “Great Balls of Fire,” “I Walk the Line,” “Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On,” “Who Do You Love?,” “Matchbox,” “Folsom Prison Blues,” “Hound Dog” and more.

Tickets are $45 for adults and $40 for youth and can be purchased through the Leach Theatre Box Office, located in the vestibule inside the main entrance of Castleman Hall, facing 10th Street. The Leach Theatre Box Office is open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Tickets can also be purchased online at leachtheatre.mst.edu.

“Million Dollar Quartet” is sponsored by FCNB Investments, Phelps County Regional Medical Center, Results Radio, KFLW 98.9 “The Fort” and First State Community Bank.
