Women in business are invited to participate in a focus group to share their ideas and opinions about creating a group that provides women with access to business resources, training, networking and a forum to test out new ideas. The focus group is hosted by the Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC) at Missouri University of Science and Technology, Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Woman Space Rolla.

“What participants tell us will determine what a women-in-business group would look like and what it would offer,” says Karen Leatherman, business development specialist with the SBTDC. “We hope to hear from a diverse audience, and anyone is welcome to participate.”

Three opportunities are available to participate. A limited number of spots are available for each session, so registration is required. Each one-hour session will be held at 900 Innovation Drive, in Rolla, Missouri. Light refreshments will be served.

Missouri S&T’s SBTDC provides business counseling and assistance to aspiring entrepreneurs and small businesses in the areas of management, new business creation, business acquisition, business sales, marketing, financial analysis, human resources, operations management, succession planning and technology commercialization. Most services are provided at no cost.

It is a University of Missouri Extension partner and part of the Missouri SBTDC statewide network, which is funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration.
