399th Army Band to perform at Leach Theatre

The 399th Army Band, based at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, will perform a free concert this October at Leach Theatre.

The concert will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, in Leach Theatre of Castleman Hall, located on the Missouri University of Science and Technology campus at the corner of 10th and Main streets in Rolla.

The concert’s theme is “A Night at the Movies.” The Army band will perform various works from the silver screen, including songs from The Lion King, The Godfather, Star Wars and more. The band’s Jazz Quartet, Brass Choir, Saxophone Quartet, Brass Band and Tuba Trio will all perform selections.

The event is free and open to the public, but attendees must pick up tickets for the event from the Leach Theatre Box Office, located in the vestibule inside the main entrance of Castleman Hall, facing 10th Street. The Leach Theatre Box Office is open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, and will open one hour prior to the concert on Oct. 26.

The 399th Army Band has performed since 1944 and is comprised of approximately 40 members of the military. The group performs at concerts and ceremonies throughout the state and the Midwest.
