The Hispanic Film Series offered by the Missouri University of Science and Technology arts, languages, and philosophy department will continue this March with a viewing of the drama “Here and There.”
The film, which is free and open to the public, begins at 7 p.m. Friday, March 10, in Room 104 Physics Building on the Missouri S&T campus. The film will be screened in Spanish with English subtitles.
“Here and There” tells the story of working father Pedro who has just returned home after years of working in the United States. He finds his two children older and more standoffish than he imagined and his wife just as he remembered her. After returning to his hometown of Guerrero, Mexico, Pedro begins mentoring a teenager who hopes to immigrate to the United States. The film is a story of hope, memory, and the way loss colors what we leave behind.
Released in 2012, the film is a production of Spain.
