Missouri University of Science and Technology will hold an informational event titled Executive Order Update & International Student Impact 5-6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, in Room 125 Butler Carlton Civil Engineering Hall to discuss the most current updates to President Donald Trump’s executive order banning international travelers from seven countries from entering the United States.
Panelists will include members of the international and cultural affairs staff, and the format will be a short presentation on the most current facts regarding the executive order, followed by a question-and-answer period.
All Missouri S&T students are encouraged to attend.
On Feb. 28, S&T will hold a second event. Features of the event could include a panel discussion, a legal expert presenting the most current updates to that point and a Q&A session.
On Friday, Jan. 27, Trump signed the order banning travel from seven countries for 90 days, suspending all refugee admission for 120 days and banning Syrian refugees indefinitely. The seven countries affected are Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen.
A total of 117 Missouri S&T students are from the affected countries.
