Anas Massri, former vice chancellor of finance and administration at Central Louisiana Technical Community College, has been named assistant vice chancellor for fiscal services at Missouri University of Science and Technology. He began his appointment Monday, June 1.
At Missouri S&T, Massri will provide financial leadership and guidance and assist with the fiscal management and budgets of the entire campus. He will be responsible for planning, implementing and supervising all operations of the accounting and fiscal services department, including accounting, the budget office, the cashier’s office, student loan collections and the campus business management staff.
“Anas’ experience fits in very well with our goals to improve processes and with the continuing changes that we will be seeing in the accounting and budget systems,” says Walter J. Branson, vice chancellor for finance and administration at Missouri S&T.
Massri joined the staff of Central Louisiana Technical Community College in 2013. A member of the chancellor’s executive leadership team, he was responsible for the overall management of all fiscal affairs and administrative services.
Prior to that, he served three years as head of the finance department at Paris Sorbonne University in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, and three years as financial controller for the General Secretariat of the Executive Council of the Emirates of Abu Dhabi. He also held positions at United Arab Emirates University and KindHearts in Toledo, Ohio.
Massri holds an MBA from Columbia Southern University and a bachelor of science degree in economics from Damascus University in Syria. He also holds a diploma of bookkeeping form Mamoun University in Syria. He is a certified financial consultant in the U.S. and Canada and a member of the Association of Accountants and Financial Professionals in Business.
