Amateur artists and designers are invited to submit original designs for this year’s Celebration of Nations T-shirt by 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27. The winning submission will receive a $150 gift card to the Missouri S&T Bookstore.
Designs must reflect the event’s theme, “One Campus. One Community. One World.” They must also include the date of the event, Sept. 26, 2015, and logos for Missouri University of Science and Technology and the city of Rolla. If the winning design does not include the date and the logos, these elements will be added to the final product.
The winning design must also demonstrate originality. All designs will be reviewed to ensure that the final product does not use excessive clipart or images downloaded from the Internet. If these elements are used, it must be in an original way. The winning design will become the property of Missouri S&T and will be used in a variety of formats to advertise the event.
Submitted designs must be at least 300 dpi or in a scanable format, no larger than 8.5×11-inches. Bring your original, scanable artwork to Room 105 Southwestern Bell Cultural Center, 1207 N. Elm. St., by 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, or email by midnight Saturday, Feb. 28. The winning entry will be announced by March 13.
The contest is open to everyone with the exception of employees of the office of international and cultural affairs at Missouri S&T, and Celebration of Nations committee members and their respective immediate family members.
The sixth annual Celebration of Nations will be held on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015. The primary goal of this program is to bring area residents and university students, faculty and staff together to celebrate this area’s cultural diversity.
