Jessica Phung, a freshman in information science and technology at Missouri University of Science and Technology, has been awarded the DeKock Scholarship for Excellence in Management and Information Systems.

The St. Louis native will receive the award of $750 each semester for up to eight semesters in recognition of her hard work and potential in information science and technology.

The scholarship is awarded to students who excel academically and are studying within the department of business and information technology.

Dr. Arlan DeKock, professor emeritus of business and information technology and a former dean at Missouri S&T, and his wife established the scholarship to recognize excellence in the field.

“She is an outstanding student and the department is very pleased to include her in our student population,” says Dr. Keng Siau, chair and professor of business and information technology. “I would also like to thank Dr. Arlan DeKock and his wife for establishing the scholarship.”
