Dorie Paine named director of residential life at Missouri S&T

Dr. Dorie Paine, senior director of student success and mentoring at the University of South Florida, will join Missouri University of Science and Technology as director of residential life on July 14.

Paine replaces Tina Sheppard, who left Missouri S&T in January after 12 years in the position. Kristi Schulte, associate director of residential life, has served as interim director since Sheppard’s departure.

Paine has been involved in the administration of university housing for more than 25 years in positions at Miami University, Emory University and DePauw University.

For the past 16 years, Paine has held a variety of positions at the University of South Florida, where she served as director of housing and residential education from 2008 until 2011. In her current position as senior director of student success and mentoring, Paine coordinates student success and retention initiatives.

Paine earned a bachelor of science degree in secretarial studies from Manchester College, a master of science degree in student personnel services from Miami University and a doctor of education degree in educational leadership from the University of South Florida.
