Outstanding teaching of distance ed courses recognized

Dr. Henry Wiebe, vice provost of global learning at Missouri University of Science and Technology, presented outstanding teaching awards to Missouri S&T faculty members engaged in distance education during a campus ceremony on April 23. “The high evaluation scores received by these faculty members reflect their strong commitment to serve our distance students,” says Wiebe.

Global Learning 2014 Outstanding Teaching Commendation Award recipients:

  • Dr. Kwame Awuah-Offei, associate professor of mining and nuclear engineering
  • Dr. Ronald S. Carson, associate adjunct professor of engineering management and systems engineering
  • Dr. Deandra T. Cassone, associate adjunct professor of engineering management and systems engineering
  • Dr. Sriram Chellappan, assistant professor of computer science
  • Dr. Mao Chen Ge, associate professor of mining and nuclear engineering
  • Dr. Jennifer Leopold, associate professor of computer science
  • Dr. J. David Rogers, Karl F. Hasselmann Missouri Chair in Geological Engineering and associate professor of geological sciences and engineering
  • Michael S. Schmidt, lecturer in engineering management and systems engineering
  • Dr. David Spurlock, lecturer in engineering management and systems engineering
  • Dr. E. Keith Stanek, professor emeritus of electrical and computer engineering.

Global Learning 2014 Outstanding Teaching Award of Excellence recipients:

  • Andrew C. Blair, lecturer in mining and nuclear engineering
  • Dr. Lokesh Dharani, Curators’ Professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering
  • Dr. Robert G. Landers, professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering.
