Missouri University of Science and Technology will conduct a test of its emergency alert system at noon Wednesday, Sept. 18.

The test will include a text message to students and employees saying, “This is a test of the Missouri S&T emergency mass notification system. This is only a test.” The test will also include voice and email alerts.

In addition, the campus community will hear the emergency alert whistle, which is located at the Missouri S&T Power Plant on North State Street. The whistle may be heard in neighborhoods adjacent to campus.

While the whistle is intended only to notify the campus community, Rolla residents living near campus may hear the whistle during the Sept. 18 test.

Students, faculty and staff who are not enrolled in the emergency alert system may sign up online at alert.mst.edu.
