U.S. Army Maj. Gen Leslie C. Smith, commanding general of the U.S. Army Maneuver Support Center of Excellence at Fort Leonard Wood, will visit the Missouri University of Science and Technology campus on Monday, Sept. 30.
Following a tour of the campus’s geothermal construction project, Smith will meet with campus leaders to discuss potential research and educational partnerships between Missouri S&T and Fort Leonard Wood. Both meetings are open to the public.
At 1:45 p.m., Smith will meet with Dr. K. Krishnamurthy, vice provost for research services, and various faculty members for a demonstration of current campus research projects. That discussion will be held in Room 110 Butler-Carlton Civil Engineering Hall.
At 3 p.m., Smith will meet with Dr. Henry Wiebe, vice provost of global learning, and several faculty and staff members involved with distance education to discuss the cooperative degree programs available at Missouri S&T, as well as the university’s distance learning programs. This discussion will be held in Room 239 Emerson Hall.
