Representatives from nearly 250 companies will be on hand to recruit students when the 2013 Fall Career Fair is held at Missouri University of Science and Technology on Sept. 24.
Although Missouri S&T hosts a career fair in the fall and in the spring, employers visit S&T to interview students year-round. This semester, 209 rooms have been reserved for on-campus interviews, an increase of 15 percent from last year. A total of 321 different employers are recruiting from Missouri S&T this fall, up 7 percent from last year.
During the last school year, 743 jobs were posted online by Missouri S&T career opportunities and employer relations, an increase of 19 percent over last fall’s numbers. More than 2,370 students looking for employment are registered with COER.
The average starting salary for undergraduates with S&T degrees is nearly $60,000. The average starting salary for graduate students is more than $71,000.
The career fair is open to S&T students between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24. Faculty and staff are allowed to attend between 8-9 a.m. or 2-3 p.m. For more information, contact COER at Missouri S&T at 573-341-6170 or career@mst.edu.
