Missouri S&T selects 2013 St. Pat

Daniel Kuehl, a junior in metallurgical engineering at Missouri University of Science and Technology, will portray St. Patrick during the 105th celebration of St. Pat’s in Rolla. Kuehl is from St. Louis.


St. Pat and his court will officially arrive in downtown Rolla at noon Wednesday, March 13. Following a procession through downtown, the court will preside over follies at the pavilion on 9th and Oak streets near the railroad tracks.

The court will also participate in formal coronation ceremonies at 9 p.m. Friday, March 15, in Leach Theatre of Missouri S&T’s Castleman Hall. There, honorary knights and student knights will be dubbed and the St. Pat’s Queen of Love and Beauty will be crowned.

The 2013 celebration continues on Saturday, March 16, with the annual St. Pat’s Parade through downtown Rolla. The parade begins at 11 a.m.

The following students have been elected members of St. Pat’s court this year:

Master guards: Samuel Nichols, a junior in metallurgical engineering from St. Louis; and Ryan Carpenter, a junior in mining engineering from Florissant, Mo.

Guards: Angelo Tuano, a junior in mechanical engineering from Imperial, Mo.; Timothy Chapman, a junior in mechanical engineering from Marble Hill, Mo.; Blake Thomure, a junior in mining engineering from Hannibal, Mo.; and Ashley Nickolaisen, a senior in mining engineering from Diamond, Mo.

Herald: Herman Singh, a sophomore in physics from Fenton, Mo.

Pages: Jacob Dailey, a senior in chemical engineering from Lee’s Summit, Mo.; and Daniel Richardson, a junior in environmental engineering from O’Fallon, Mo.

Trumpeter: Steven Nieto, a junior in petroleum engineering from Dallas, Texas.
