A member of the student financial assistance staff since June 2005, Betz replaces Lynn Stichnote, who became director of admissions last September.

“Bridgette is passionate about leveraging financial assistance resources to help increase the success of our students,” says Laura Stoll, vice provost and dean for enrollment management. “Her experience with the PeopleSoft product used for student financial assistance processes and her experience within the department, at increasing levels of responsibility, make her an excellent choice to lead this critical office for our campus.”

Prior to becoming interim director last September, Betz served as an assistant director in the office from February through September 2012. Previously, she was manager of student financial assistance from May 2010 through February 2012. She also worked as a database services assistant in the office.

Betz earned a bachelor of science degree in business and management systems from Missouri S&T in 2005 and a master of business administration degree from Webster University in 2009.

Since March 2011, Betz has served as a member of the Oracle/PeopleSoft Financial Aid Product Advisory Group, an international advisory group for the company. A member of the Missouri S&T Staff Council, she currently serves as chair and previously served as secretary and vice chair. She is a member of the Intercampus Staff Advisory Council, which consists of Staff Council representatives from each of the four University of Missouri campuses.

In April 2010, Betz was selected to participate in the University of Missouri Administrative Leadership Development Program.
