Women are needed to volunteer as guides for attendees of the Expanding Your Horizons (EYH) conference that will be held on Friday, Nov. 2, on the campus of Missouri University of Science and Technology. EYH helps 7th- and 8th-grade girls learn about careers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields. The event brings more than 450 students to campus.
EYH is an annual one-day conference at Missouri S&T that allows girls to interact with women working in traditionally male occupations. The girls participate in hands-on workshops, meet other young women with similar interests, and learn about career opportunities.
Female faculty, staff, students and community members are encouraged to volunteer. Guiding is easy and enjoyable and is a great way to contribute to the students’ experience on campus. The hours are from 8:15 a.m.-1:15 p.m. and lunch is provided for all volunteers.
Volunteer online by Monday, Oct. 21, at eyh.mst.edu or with Lisa Powell at 573-341-4278 or strauser@mst.edu.
