A sealed section of PVC pipe discovered near the Havener Center on the Missouri University of Science and Technology campus has been determined to be no threat to the campus.
At approximately 9:30 a.m. today (Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012), Missouri S&T officials sent out a notification that a “suspicious item” had been discovered near the Havener Center and that S&T police were evacuating the building and immediate area. The notification told students, faculty and staff to avoid the area.
Police located the owner of the item and determined that it was no threat to campus.
Police issued an all-clear and reopened the area at approximately 10 a.m.
