The international affairs office at Missouri University of Science and Technology, in conjunction with the university’s study abroad programs, leadership and cultural programs and the Missouri S&T International Students Club, will sponsor the annual Global Showcase event from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, in the atrium of the Havener Center.
The showcase will feature cultural items, photos and other materials from the home countries of Missouri S&T students, faculty and staff. Attendees can sample candies from different countries while participants demonstrate talents in music, song and dance. American students who have participated in study abroad programs will also share their experiences and memorabilia.
The Global Showcase recognizes and celebrates the importance and benefits of international education in the United States and around the world as part of International Education Week, held Nov. 12-16. IEW is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education. This year’s IEW theme is “Celebrating and Promoting International Educational Exchange.”
