For the third year in a row, the American Institute of Chemical Engineering student chapter at Missouri University of Science and Technology has won the Outstanding Student Chapter Award from the national organization.
The AIChE Outstanding Student Chapter Award recognizes chapters nationwide for exceptional program quality, professionalism, and university and community involvement.
S&T AIChE chapter President Marsha Wisely, a senior in chemical engineering from St. Louis, Mo., and chapter advisor Dr. Daniel Forciniti, professor of chemical and biochemical engineering, will accept the award on behalf of the chapter during the AIChE Annual Meeting to be held Oct. 27-Nov. 2 in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Also during the national conference, two Missouri S&T students will receive recognition for their academic excellence and involvement in AIChE:
In addition, the Missouri S&T Chem-E Car Team, which finished third in last year’s national design competition and race, will compete again this year in the event, which is held during the national conference. For the Chem-E Car competition, student teams design and build a car powered by chemical reaction.
