Asphalt conference at Missouri S&T Dec. 4-5

The 55th annual Asphalt Conference will be held at Missouri University of Science and Technology Dec. 4-5. The conference will be held on campus in the St. Pat’s Ballroom of the Havener Center. Registration is $125.


Organizers say the conference will be of interest to contractors, public agencies, consulting engineers, testing labs, aggregate producers, asphalt binder suppliers, asphalt plant operators, highway contractors, pavement maintenance professionals, road crews, and traffic safety industry and technical equipment representatives. Conference participants will receive Personal Development Hours (PDH).

Among the topics to be covered in conference presentations are construction and performance issues of overlays, overlay bonding, quality process management, impact of specification changes on plant mixes, fabric inner layers in overlays, chip seal basics, appropriate selection of mixes, designing high air void content mixes, trends in high RAP/shingle mixes, sale oil versus crude oil, RAP/shingle bending charts, NCAT test track update, high RAP/shingle modifiers from guayule plant, changes in emulsion quality, performance mixture testing, achieving good pavement drainage, AMRL certification, current research from the Missouri Department of Transportation and MAPA updates.
